Confidentiality, Privacy Acts & Statutory Policies
We take your confidentiality very seriously at Property Recruitment Australia and will not disclose your availability as a candidate without prior consultation with you.
We do, equally ask you, the candidate, to treat your knowledge of our clients and their affairs similarly private.

Privacy Act and Other Statutory Policies
- A range of privacy and other relevant legislation applies to our activity in different countries and we are required to draw our policies and practices towards these to your attention although Property Recruitment Australia strives to excel rather than to meet statutory standards.
- The effect of our privacy policies is that we collect such information as appears necessary to advise clients of your suitability for a position and we collect information for no other purpose.
- The information we collect on you is sometimes personal in terms of the Privacy Acts in Australia or of their equivalents elsewhere but its focus lies on your work history and on your ability to do a job rather than on other matters such as marriage, national origin or religion which have no direct bearing on your skill base.
- For our own part, personal information on you will be kept securely and will only be disclosed to a client or other party after prior consultation with you. The information may in turn then be shared with or supplemented by others e.g. referees employers and test consultants who may have different policies. Whilst we encourage clients and others to share our standards of confidentiality we are not in a position to accept liability in the event of a breach. The use of information on you by others will be subject to any national legislation which may apply but generally you will have rights to see, update, add, and withdraw information held.
- Similarly we are active supporters of equal opportunity, anti-discrimination and occupational health/safety practises and legislation and similarly ask our clients to go beyond legislative standards in their countries of operation, ensuring language or culture preferences are for real underlying business reasons and not simply out of superficial preference.
- If you would like to exercise your rights in respect of our polices or to raise any other matter please do not hesitate to ask the consultant you have most contact with or failing that, our Privacy Officer and/or Managing Director. Our professional body, the Recruitment & Consulting Services Association of Australia is well informed and will normally also be able to help as will statutory authorities under Employment, Fair Trading, OH&S and Anti-Discrimination legislation although we trust you will never have need to make contact with them.
